What you get with a final year project from MonoEd
4 minute read
The short answer
You type your project topic. We build a working system for that topic and give you the code and the papers that explain it. You run it on your own laptop and show it at your defence.
It is built for your topic. It is not a template that every student receives.
What is in the download
- The source code. Python with Flask and SQLite, or plain PHP with MySQL. You choose, or we choose the one that suits your topic.
- A guide to your own system. It explains the big picture, follows three real actions through the code, describes every table and every file, and gives you three small changes to try yourself.
- Twenty likely defence questions with short answers taken from your own build.
- Run instructions for a Windows laptop, with common problems and how to fix them.
- Screenshots of every main screen, sized for Chapter 4.
- Sample data and sample logins, clearly labelled, with steps for replacing them with your own.
The guide, the defence questions and the run instructions each come as a PDF, a Word file and a text file.
What you can do on the site
- Read the full plan before you pay: who uses the system, what it does, the screens and the data.
- Read every file of your code in the browser before you download it.
- Open an online copy of a Python project for 30 minutes to click through it. PHP projects do not have this yet.
- Ask for a change three times, in plain words, for when your supervisor wants something different.
How it is checked
Before a project reaches you it is installed from scratch, its own tests are run, and every screen is opened as the right kind of user. A project that fails these checks is not delivered.
What it does not do
- It does not write Chapters 1 to 5. Use the MonoEd project writer at fyp.monoed.africa for that.
- It does not build mobile apps or network simulations.
- It does not take real payments or send real SMS or email. Where a topic needs them, they are simulated and labelled.
- A project has up to seven screens, including the login page. It is sized for a defence, not for a company.
The project is built with AI. You must read the guide, run the system and understand it, and you must say it was built with AI when you submit or defend it.
