From your system to Chapters 3 and 4
4 minute read
Write the chapters from the real system
Chapters 3 and 4 describe a system. They are easier and more convincing when the system exists and the chapters describe what it truly does. Supervisors notice when a use case diagram shows a feature that the software does not have.
Chapter 3: analysis and design
- Users and use cases: your guide lists each kind of user and what they can do.
- Activity and flow diagrams: the guide has a diagram of the main flow.
- Database design: the guide describes every table and field, with a diagram of how the tables connect.
- System architecture: the guide explains every file and what it is responsible for.
Chapter 4: implementation and testing
- Implementation tools: the language, the database and each library, with one sentence on why it was chosen.
- Screens: the screenshots that come with your project, each with a caption you can use for the figure.
- Testing: the list of tests run on your system, with the expected and the actual result of each.
- System requirements and installation: the run instructions.
Chapter 5
Your project lists its own limitations and what could be added next. These are honest starting points for your limitations and recommendations.
This site builds the software. To write the chapters themselves, use the MonoEd project writer at fyp.monoed.africa.
